S51 Review

Written by Millican at 05:58 13/2-2020

Season 51 was a bit disappointing, as a critical string of injuries saw the team drop as far as division 7. However, the team has rebounded quite nicely from the drop in competition, and is already climbing back up the ranks! We're finishing the season in division 6, with the goal of making it back up to division 4 by the end of next season.

There were a few new faces contributing to the team this season, with the additions of veteran DH guide Florian Vermeesch and young sprinter Jano Siroky. Florian proved he still has what it takes to win, stepping up to captain the team during Nate Thurston's injury and win his first race in several seasons. Jano also found his way to the top step of the podium, though this youngster will likely be spending his time on lead out duties due to an unfortunately low max. We also welcomed our new PR man Len Fairleigh, who is secretly furious that he lost a ping pong match to an uncoordinated cycling fanatic. Key upgrades were made to the staff, with our recovery doctor now maxed and a few training courses thrown at the mechanic for good measure.

Next season's goals are to climb back up the ranks to division 4, and to add a solid CL/DH teammate or talent to the squad to support Thurston. Hopefully no more trainees max at 38, like the last two...

Division is perhaps the best division for Nate to be getting the results. Good luck finding more support!
